It always amazes me how much my life can deteriorate in a month.
December was that month.
I fell off the path. But that’s a story for another time.
Time to get back at it.
My Boring Improvement Exercise
I’m sure you remember how for the month of November I did what’s called the “Boring Improvement Exercise.” Paying my “Boring Tax.” I won’t rehash it here, you can go read all about it in this post.
That exercise taught me a lot. It changed me a lot. But I decided to take December off due to the holidays and some unexpected health issues.
But I’m back at it, with a new list of behaviors I want to incorporate into each day and a plan of attack. I want to do this each month because I saw firsthand just how impactful small behaviors can be over long periods of time. Programming your brain is a superpower so I’m going to keep getting better at it.
I’m starting a few days late in January, but here we go.
List of behaviors
For the month of January, I have 6 daily behaviors.
Deep work session before 9am (projects) - 60 min
Daily workout challenge - 5 min
Devotions - 30 min
Read - 15 min
Daily memory/active recall - 10 min
Spanish - 5 min
Allow me to elaborate on what each of these are and the secret ingredients to make them effortless.
