I love this idea! It reminds me of something my Dad used to say all to time… something to the effect of “ask lots of questions, and actively seek out opportunities. When you get those answers and find those opportunities, ACT on them, and you will get so much father in life than people who never even try to act.” The example he likes to give is similar to this experience, and it’s to ask someone if you can work for them for free for a day, because you will impress employers, learn new skills, and find a new appreciation and understanding for all kinds of different people and careers.
This really spoke to me. I've always been one to say no, to avoid any risk or new experience. I'm trying to change that and this post really encouraged me!
